Ehhhhh...
I have really been neglecting my poor little blog.
I completely missed my 17th birthday on here and alot of other exciting events.
I've been swamped with schoolwork, college apps, & art classes. So I will try my hardest to come back and write more, reviews, etc etc.
I haven't even been doing that much shopping, due to the fact I need a job, but thats another story.
Maybe I start making videos, who knows.
Good news! I started my Lookbook account and if you don't what that is, its a huge fashion community, kinda like the Instagram/Facebook of Fashion. I suggest you click on the link.
I'm going to purchase a Canon DSLR soon! So that means lots of ootd's and pictures of others. I can easily do a video from my Mac. Its good to be back, I definitely try harder.
Thanks (:

Soho Trip
Well yesterday I took a trip down to SoHo, not too unusual for me because I'm from uptown and its a simple train ride but always fun. I visited the American Apparel SoHo Outlet, Sephora, Urban Outfitters, Brandy Melville, and H&M (But wasn't pleased probably because I can only wear black&white to school and there was SO much color). I'll go through the stores:
American Apparel SoHo Outlet - Located on Lafayette St. [Near the B,D,F,M trains] Very very cool, they restock new things everyday. Some stuff that hasn't even been featured in the stores, and the stuff that has is marked down. The only "sucky" policy is everything is FINAL SALE. Meaning they don't let you return or exchange. As the sales associate put it the only possible exchange is "if you picked up the wrong size and let the store but 10 minutes later you realized you had the wrong size so you came back". Sucks? Right. If you wanna go check it out, I suggest you get down there before September 17th when it closes. Next time I go back I plan to buy the Underwire Swimsuit bodysuit in white.
Sephora - I was trying to find some cool new lipsticks or stains. I'm not really comfortable with makeup yet, so I'm open to testing different products. I'd much rather leave my house with a natural face with a face caked with makeup. But I'm trying. So I picked up some Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm #16 (voluptuous violet). Since my new school requires black&white attire, my best friend said a nice burgundy or purple would go nicely. Its more of a balm so I doesn't show as much but still cute and hydrating.

Brandy Melville - Total "hispter" (excuse me for using the term), laid back store. You walk in and their blasting Frank Ocean's Chanel Orange. Like I LOVE this store. Its quiet the scandy naked store so get comfortable with showing some skin in the woven bandeaus and plenty of crop top tees with logos like The Kills and LA. Its very relaxed and its like walking into someone's cabin/beach villa. The color range is very neutral calm unlike when I walked into H&M and saw mostly neons. Any teenage girl's dream. I bought my best friend a very sexy dress from here on her birthday. Heres a picture of my backpack I got from them in the beginning of the summer that I will be wearing to my first day of school tomorrow. Only $55. Its the first bag on the left but more grey in the tribal print like the bag on the right.
Urban Outfitters - probably my favorite store, but can be a little pricey when your broke like me lol. I didn't buy anything because I really just wanted mess around with the heels upstairs. So I went for the scariest on the Jeffrey Campbell Prickly Mary Jane Platform. Heelless shoe isn't one to play with, it looks as though it could break ankles but when trying it on, it was more comfortable then some stilettos I've worn. And theres no "oh no I'm going to tilt back" feeling, the shoe is pretty high so my calves were aching trying to just get in my foot in the shoe. The studs hurt like hell though, I didn't expect them to be that sharp. But its a very cute shoe and very edgey and costs $220. I might go for the suede stud-less one. I would totally buy!
So that was my SoHo trip, time for me to go to bed for my first day of school, Fashion's Night Out in the evening and the VMAs.
Sweet dreams,

Review of Forever 21's Fashion/Style Icon: Forever Aaliyah
Though I am days later, I found Forever 21's tribute to Aaliyah was quite special in the midst of 11th anniversary of Aaliyah's death. Her post 90's style can be found on their blog. Forever does a fantastic job a capturing her style in just 3 photos, it brought a smile to my face. I loved that edginess and that beauty she revealed in as Forever 21 puts it "sporty sleek" style. My favorite look of hers was at the 2000 MTV VMA's.
Babygirl could always be found in crop top or bandeau exposing her perfect body, a tight leather top, or a bandana. As Forever 21 portrayed their model with long beautiful black flowing hair. Aaliyah evolved from a tomboy 15 year old girl breaking through the industry into an elegant grown woman. She was known for a sweet personality and work ethic with the voice of an angel. My mother introduced her music to me at three and four years old. I knew her voice clearly when I turned on the radio, surprisingly at the age of three I knew how to do that. I still jam out to favorites such as "Rock the Boat", "I Dont Wanna Be", "Back & Forth", "Miss You", "Are You That Somebody" and countless others.
She was really an inspiration, a beauty and will truly be missed among the other fallen angels of 90's.
Rest In Peace Babygirl. And a special thanks to Forever21 for recognizing the R&B sensation.

Rihanna Fall Peplum
Hoolala Whimsical Pin Badge
$3.96 - hannahzakari.co.uk
I wanted to take a look at Rihanna's paparazzi shot and find that this style is simple to put together. I myself recently ordered and expecting a cute little peplum top from an international website. Rihanna's plays it nicely with harem/jogger pants, her usual but always loved open-toed shoe. I changed her open-toed from a choice between, a casual studded calf black boot or a Manolo Blahnik pointed heel. I kept the same clean white bag look, by Givenchy. Perhaps not the same bag, and totally out of my price range but cute. Maybe go for a Louis Vuitton if thats a better deal. I suggest when the weather gets a chilly to pair this all with military green parka. But a few of my favorite Fall 2012 looks, hope to this see this perhaps premiered on the runaway in the new few days.

Hello New Followers/Readers,
My name is Rain. Yes thats my real weird hippy name. Welcome to my new fashion blog. I'm sixteen years old, a high school senior that resides in New York City, often referred to as the "fashion capital of American or even the world". I wanted to create this blog to express my love fashion further. Also in honor of the upcoming event Fashion's Night Out & the launching of eight day event Fashion Week in New York City.
I guess you could say the city literally booming with the sounds of culture, sewing machines clicking away, and planes hitting taxis containing the world's largest designers, artists, celebrities, could inspire a teenager to create such a cliched blog.
I described it as cliched because I feel though there are hundreds and thousands of fashion blogs out there. I hope that mine as each of them, hold some sort of originality. I'm excited to post often and display my appreciation of patterns, textures, styles, fabrics, looks with anyone who takes it upon themselves to visit my blog.
I'd probably end up sharing more than my interesting in the arts, but food or music that has caught my attention. I'll try to post pictures of my own outfits and other friends looks, even though at times I despise my closet & I don't own a really awesome vintage camera or DSLR. Anyways it was really cool to me to finally create this so I hope you guys enjoy.
Heres the link to personal strange blog which can be found on the website tumblr, trillstorms.tumblr.com.
Thanks for visting. It means alot.
- Rain
